Chicago Tech has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will face off against the Chicago Military Academy Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Chicago Tech scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They took down Phoenix Military 80-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Jonathan Harris continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 33 points. He hasn't dropped below 15points for ten straight games. Artis El was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Meanwhile, Chicago Military Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 53-42 win over Chicago Washington.
Chicago Military Academy's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Zaid Shine, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 17 rebounds, and Jamhad Noye-Mohammad, who scored 22 points along with eight rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Noye-Mohammad pulled down eight or more rebounds. Another player making a difference was Jayson Tucker, who scored five points.
Chicago Tech pushed their record up to 9-5 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.0 points per game. As for Chicago Military Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-8 record this season.
Chicago Tech beat Chicago Military Academy 74-66 in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. Will Chicago Tech repeat their success, or does Chicago Military Academy have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
