L.E.A.D. Academy was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 12th straight defeat dating back to last season. They fell just short of the Pensacola Area Homeschool Phoenix by a score of 3-2. The Lions were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Phoenix apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in October of 2023.
In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, L.E.A.D. Academy sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 25-15, 19-25, 15-10.
Even though they lost, L.E.A.D. Academy was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 13 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2023.
Pensacola Area Homeschool was led to victory by Miley Zeiss and Laura Ave. Zeiss had eight aces and three kills, while Ave had five kills and five aces. Zeiss is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in the last five games she's played dating back to last season.
L.E.A.D. Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-11. As for Pensacola Area Homeschool, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games, which provided a nice bump to their 6-7 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. L.E.A.D. Academy will have a little extra prep time after the loss as they won't be playing again for a while.
