Baseball Recap: Dawson Puts Losing Streak Behind Them

After low-scoring totals in their previous three game, Dawson brought some dynamite into their most recent contest. They walked away with a 12-7 win over the Mart Panthers on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Bulldogs: when they faced off against the Panthers on Tuesday, they had to take a 1-0 defeat.

Dawson let Kane Funderburk and Bryce Kelley run wild. Funderburk went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run, while Kelley went 1-for-3 with two runs and two RBI. Those three RBI gave Funderburk a new career-high. Curtis Oldenburg was another key player, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.

The victory snapped Dawson's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 10-7 record. As for Mart, their loss dropped their record down to 7-6.

Dawson didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, an 11-3 defeat against Live Oak Classical on the 22nd. Mart does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
