Trinity Christian Academy is 4-0 against Providence School since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on October 27th. After each having a week off, the two teams will shake off the cobwebs and face off against one another at 7:00 p.m. on October 27th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Trinity Christian Academy got themselves on the board against University Christian, but University Christian never followed suit. They strolled past the Christians with points to spare, taking the game 14-0.
Darnell Rogers was the offensive standout of the contest as he rushed for 165 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.9 yards per carry. Rogers was no stranger to the big play, turning on the jets for a run that went for 53 yards.
Meanwhile, Providence School had already won six in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 25.8 points), and they went ahead and made it seven on Friday. They enjoyed a cozy 42-28 win over Master's Academy.
Mason Williams continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 144 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 7.6 yards per carry, and also throwing for 83 yards and a touchdown. Williams is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played.
Providence School's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB five times. Leading the way was John King and his 2.5 sacks.
Trinity Christian Academy is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Providence School, their victory was their eighth straight at home (dating back to last season), bumping their overall record up to 7-1.
Everything came up roses for Trinity Christian Academy against Providence School when the teams last played back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 55-10 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Trinity Christian Academy since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
