 Last Friday, St. Bonaventure strolled past Birmingham with  points to spare, taking the game  41-27. Given the Seraphs' advantage  in MaxPreps' California football rankings  (they are ranked 30th, while the Patriots are ranked 103rd), the result  wasn't entirely unexpected.
  Koen Glover was nothing short of spectacular: he rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.7 yards per carry, and also caught a touchdown.  Kaden Glover was another key player, rushing for 39 yards and a touchdown.
 St. Bonaventure's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB  three times. In that department,  Matthew Perez was the leader with two sacks. He also put in work on the defensive side of the ball, picking up  two  sacks and making seven total tackles (3.0 for loss).
 Meanwhile, Archbishop Riordan had to kick off their season on the road on Friday, but they showed no ill effects. They slipped by McClymonds  35-34.
