Dunedin has gone 8-1 against Northeast recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Dunedin Falcons will challenge the Northeast Vikings at 7:00 p.m. Dunedin is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
While Dunedin didn't have the best season last year (they finished 11-15), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They had just enough and edged out Sunlake 5-4.

Abby McLemore made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over 3.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two hits in three consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one double and one RBI.
In other batting news, Riley Millican was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-3. Jillian Ellison also deserves some recognition as she stole her first stolen base of the season.
Dunedin hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sunlake struck out ten times.
Meanwhile, Northeast got the win against Largo on Friday by a conclusive 13-1. The win continues a trend for the Vikings in their matchups with the Packers: they've now won nine in a row.
Like Dunedin, Northeast also got a great game from a two-way player: Danielle Brunner. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only a hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Brunner was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-3. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in hits (three).
In other batting news, Lashell Roberts was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Makayla Simon, who scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4.
Northeast pushed their record up to 2-2 with the victory, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Dunedin, their record is now 5-0.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Tuesday. Dunedin hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.6 home runs per game. However, it's not like Northeast struggles in that department as they've been averaging 1.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Dunedin suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Northeast in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Can Dunedin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
