After flying high against the Forest Lake Academy Panthers on Wednesday, the Bishop Moore Hornets came back down to earth. Bishop Moore fell just short of Altamonte Christian by a score of 54-52.
When it comes to explaining why Bishop Moore lost on Thursday, one person who can't be blamed is Cameron Codio. Despite the final result, he scored 17 points along with eight rebounds. The game was Codio's 15th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mark Dadlani, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Altamonte Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Vincent Lee, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 14 rebounds. Those 14 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Ashton Billings was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Bishop Moore's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Altamonte Christian, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 10-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Bishop Moore will face off against Trinity Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Trinity Prep is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Altamonte Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Lake Howell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
