The Klondike Cougars had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They blew past Balmorhea 100-62 at home. The result was nothing new for Klondike, who have now won 11 games by 26 points or more so far this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Klondike to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jared Quintanilla, who rushed for 115 yards and two touchdowns, and also threw for 171 yards and three touchdowns while completing 87.5% of his passes. Another player making a difference was Creed Warren, who rushed for 84 yards and four touchdowns.
The win was the tenth in a row for Klondike, bringing their record for this year to 11-1. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 51.4 points. As for Balmorhea, their defeat ended a five-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-3.
Klondike will take on Benjamin at TBD on Friday. Benjamin has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 904 points over their last 13 matchups. Balmorhea does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
