The Taft Raiders lost against the Harlan Hawks back in November of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Taft fell 21-14 to Harlan. It was the first time this season that Taft let down their fans at home.
Noah Farris was the offensive standout of the match as he threw for 209 yards and three touchdowns. Payton Matthews did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 89 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Harlan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Nathaniel Tealer and Ronnell Cunningham who racked up five sacks between them.
Taft's defeat dropped their record down to 6-4. As for Harlan, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 10-0.
Taft will square off against United at 7:00 p.m. on November 10th. United is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Harlan, they will face off against Eagle Pass at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Eagle Pass will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 492nd, while Harlan is ranked 106th).
