The Wright City Wildcats are taking a road trip to face off against the Van-Far Indians at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Van-Far will be up against a hot Wright City team: the squad just extended their winning streak to five. Everything went the Wildcats' way against South Shelby on Friday as they made off with a 41-16 victory. 41 seems to be a good number for the Wildcats as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Wright City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Nathan Turner, who picked up 150 receiving yards and a pair of scores. The bulk of those receiving yards came from one huge play: a catch that gained an incredible 82 yards. Dayton Humphreys also deserves a shout-out for his two touchdowns.

Wright City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Kaiden Pilcher and Grant Lehmen. Pilcher also set a new season-high mark in total tackles with nine. Wright City got some further help from Quinn Schnarre: he forced two fumbles and made 16 total tackles (1.0 for loss).
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Van-Far). They blew past Bowling Green 52-28 on Friday. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point the Indians had established a 22-point advantage.
Wright City better keep an eye on Gaven Gaston. He was instrumental in Van-Far's win, rushing for 211 yards and four TDs on only ten carries.
Van-Far was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 393 rushing yards. That's the most rushing yards they've posted since back in November of 2024.
Wright City's record is now 5-1. As for Van-Far, their record now sits at 4-2.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Wright City has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 178 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Van-Far struggles in that department as they've been averaging 247.8 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Wright City came up short against Van-Far in their previous meeting back in October of 2024, falling 40-34. Thankfully for the Wildcats, Tyson Douglas (who rushed for 291 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 9.7 yards per carry) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
