The Avon Grove Red Devils will head out on the road to challenge the Kennett Blue Demons at 3:45 p.m. on Monday. Avon Grove is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.3 runs per game this season.
Avon Grove came out on top against Bishop Shanahan on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run first inning. The Red Devils skirted past the Eagles 6-5. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Red Devils have posted against the Eagles since April 25, 2022.
Avon Grove got a great performance from Ryan Fuller as he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits (and only one walk). Fuller also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Red Devils are undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 5-6 otherwise.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Myles Raymond, who went 2-for-4 with four RBI, one run, and one double. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. Trey Nielsen also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Avon Grove kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, while it was Kennett who put the first runs on the board on Thursday, it was Great Valley who put up more. The Blue Demons lost 13-3 to the Patriots. The Blue Demons haven't had much luck with the Patriots recently, as the team has come up short the last four times they've met.
Cole Doherty made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
Kennett's loss dropped their record down to 5-9-1. As for Avon Grove, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six contests. That's provided a massive bump to their 9-6 record this season.
Kennett's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Avon Grove hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .318. It's a different story for Kennett, though, as they've only averaged .218. Will they be able to contain Avon Grove's hitters?
Avon Grove took their victory against Kennett in their previous matchup back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 10-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Red Devils since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
