Buchanan and Clovis are an even 5-5 against one another since May of 2021, but not for long. The Bears will face off against the Cougars at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
Buchanan is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Clovis East just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Timberwolves by a score of 3-2. While the Bears didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the Timberwolves 25-21 in the first set.

Buchanan's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Carlos Jay, who had seven digs and three aces, and John Soldani, who had 18 digs and two aces. Cole Haroldsen was another key player, getting 23 assists and eight digs.
Meanwhile, Clovis entered their tilt with Central on Tuesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They put the hurt on the Grizzlies with a sharp 3-0 victory.
Clovis not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Central between 16 and 19 points across their sets. The final score came out to 25-19, 25-16, 25-19.
Buchanan's loss dropped their record down to 16-12. As for Clovis, they pushed their record up to 19-1 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season.
Buchanan came up short against Clovis when the teams last played back in March, falling 3-1. Can the Bears avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
