The Higbee Tigers will be home for the holidays to greet the Hale Cardinals at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Higbee will be looking to keep their nine-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Higbee has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four contests by 42 points or more this season. They breezed by Norborne on the road to the tune of 71-23. Given Higbee's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 214th, while Norborne is ranked 492nd), the result on Tuesday wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Hale unfortunately witnessed the end of their five-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 75-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Grundy County/Newtown-Harris. Despite running the score up even higher than they did last Friday (56), Hale still had to take the loss.
Higbee's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for Hale, their loss dropped their record down to 5-2.
Higbee won a contest that couldn't have been any closer in their previous matchup back in December of 2022, slipping by Hale 58-57. Does Higbee have another victory up their sleeve, or will Hale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
