After a dominant victory in their contest last Friday, South Winneshiek were humbled on Friday. They and St. Ansgar were almost perfectly matched up, but they suffered an agonizing 39-40 defeat. If South Winneshiek were hoping to take revenge for the 12-35 loss against St. Ansgar the last time the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
The loss dropped South Winneshiek's record to 4-3. The win bumped St. Ansgar's record up to 5-2.
Next week South Winneshiek take on Central Springs at 7:00 PM. As for St. Ansgar, they will face off against Newman Catholic. Newman Catholic took a loss in their last matchup and are no doubt out to reverse St. Ansgar's good fortune.
