Monte Vista is 0-10 against Helix since May of 2016 but things could change on Thursday. The Monarchs will welcome the Scotties at 4:00 p.m. Monte Vista will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Monte Vista hadn't beaten El Cajon Valley on the road since May 3, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Tuesday. The Monarchs put the hurt on the Braves with a sharp 22-5 win. The result was nothing new for the Monarchs, who have now won ten games by seven runs or more so far this season.
Reena Del Rosario made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out six batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and four unearned) runs off five hits. Those six strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two doubles, and one run.

Thursday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Monte Vista has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .502. However, it's not like Helix struggles in that department as they've averaged .518. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Monte Vista might still be hurting after the 14-0 defeat they got from Helix in their previous matchup on April 14th. Will the Monarchs have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
