Truman King made a big impact no matter where he played. He tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has become a key player for Holly: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 5-6 otherwise. Cheyenne Wells got a massive performance out of Taegen Eiring, who went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. The team also got some help courtesy of Mason Marriott, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases and two runs.
Holly pushed their record up to 13-6 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Cheyenne Wells, their victory bumped their record up to 9-6.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Saturday as neither team is afraid to steal. Holly has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Cheyenne Wells struggles in that department as they've been averaging 9.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Holly took their win against Cheyenne Wells when the teams last played two weeks ago by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Wildcats since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
