The Vian Wolverines will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Washington Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on November 24th. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Vian had no problem doing just that on Friday. They blew past Adair 45-20.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Masyn Wright, who rushed for 165 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw for 115 yards and a touchdown while completing 75% of his passes. Draighton Fletcher was another key contributor, rushing for 135 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.1 yards per carry.
Meanwhile, Washington put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They breezed by Meeker at home to the tune of 56-7. With Washington ahead 28-7 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Vian is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season. As for Washington, their win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0.
Vian was taken down by Washington 55-13 in their previous matchup back in August. Can Vian avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
