Baseball Recap: MICDS Extends Winning Streak to Five

MICDS had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 9.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Duchesne Pioneers as they made off with an 8-2 victory. Considering the Rams have won 12 matchups by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

Brian Gould made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other batting news, Dunnen McGaughey was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in May of 2024.

MICDS' win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 21-6. The road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Duchesne, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 25-10.

As of now, neither MICDS nor the Pioneers have any future games scheduled.
