The Barker Bulldogs couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They suffered a tough 71-46 defeat at the hands of Notre Dame on Wednesday. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Barker in their matchups with Notre Dame: they've now lost six in a row.
Notre Dame had a senior duo take command as Ryan Fitzpatrick scored 21 points along with 7 rebounds and Jaden Sherwood dropped a double-double on 13 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of George Woodruff, who scored 6 points.
Barker's defeat dropped their record down to 0-1. As for Notre Dame, their win bumped their record up to 1-0.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Barker will take on Alden at 6:45 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Notre Dame, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Royalton-Hartland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Royalton-Hartland focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Tuesday.
