There's no place like home for the Kermit Yellow Jackets, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Tuesday. Everything went their way against Presidio on Friday as Kermit made off with a 52-30 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory Kermit has posted since December 8, 2023.
Kermit found their leader in underclassman Leylani Quiroz, who scored 25 points along with six steals and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Quiroz has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Hernandez, who scored eight points along with six rebounds.
Kermit pushed their record up to 13-12 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 24.56 points. As for Presidio, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-5 record this season.
Kermit will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Compass Academy at 6:30 p.m. Compass Academy has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since November 28. As for Presidio, they will head out on the road to face off against Alpine at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Alpine focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 last Tuesday.
