The Shiloh Hills Christian Challengers put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They enjoyed a cozy 76-57 win over Lafayette Christian. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Lafayette Christian had strong showings from Joshua Zapatta, who scored 22 points along with 9 rebounds, and Vakiel Hammett, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds. Zapatta scored a full 38.6% of Lafayette Christian's points, the second time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Shiloh Hills Christian pushed their record up to 9-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.8 points per game. As for Lafayette Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 2-2.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Shiloh Hills Christian will take on Cherokee Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lafayette Christian, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on LaGrange Academy at 7:30 p.m. on December 5th.
