Basketball Recap: Orleans Piles Up the Points Against Lanesville

A well-balanced attack led Orleans over Lanesville in every quarter on their way to victory on Saturday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Orleans Bulldogs blew the Lanesville Eagles out of the water with a 67-35 final score. The Bulldogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six contests by 21 points or more this season.

Orleans had a senior duo take command as Bryce Jones went 5 for 12 on his way to 13 points in addition to six boards and five assists and Rylan Crocker posted 17 points and six rebounds. Jones is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed three or more in the last four games he's played. Nate Brown was another key player, putting up nine points and eight boards.

Orleans was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lanesville only racked up five assists.

Several Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Nolin Pearce, who went 6 of 14 en route to 14 points. Aiden Lieber also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

The win was the third in a row for Orleans, bringing their record for this year to 8-2. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 67.3 points per game. As for Lanesville, they dropped their record down to 2-8 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Orleans wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 45-34 victory against Perry Central on the 24th. Lanesville has also already played their next game (against North Harrison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
