Sean Smith Earns League's Top Spot
Starting off the list is Westlake's Sean Smith, who we judged to be the best player in the league this week. On Friday Smith threw for 123 yards and a touchdown, and also rushed for 68 yards on only six carries. The performance marked the most rushing yards he has had since back in October of 2023.
Westlake's loss was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-5. A feisty cat fight will be fought when Lions challenges Chapel Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.

Zamarcus Lindley's big game helped extend Douglas County's winning streak to three on Friday. Lindley was dynamite, rushing for 108 yards and three touchdowns. On Friday, Douglas County got the W thanks in part to Jacahi Streeter playing the best football he has all season. Streeter rushed for 119 yards and a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process.
On the year, Streeter has run in 4 touchdowns while averaging 53.1 rushing yards per game.
