 Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Akins to victory, but perhaps none more so than   Ava Linnell, who  earned 18  points along with seven  rebounds and five  steals. Akins is 3-1 when  Linnell posts five or  more  steals, but 3-18 otherwise.  Lily Gonzalez-Espinal was another key player,  putting up four points in addition to nine  boards and three  blocks.
Del Valle's defeat dropped their record down to 12-20. As for Akins, their  victory was their first in the district, bumping their district record up to 1-11 and their overall record up to 6-19.
