4A Conference 13 recap November 5, 2013
Panther Creek was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after besting Holly Springs. The Catamounts came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 33 last week.
Adding to the longest winning streak in 4A Conference 13 this week, Middle Creek beat Cary 14-0. The victory was the sixth in a row for the team.
Athens Drive's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Brandon Farley threw for 16 and 1 touchdown and Mark Stallings had 63 yards receiving. On the ground Dominique Lynch contributed 166 yards. Lynch helped Athens Drive's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.
The Jaguars' dynamic duo of Farley and Stallings proved to be unstoppable against Fuquay-Varina, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Lynch helped Athens Drive's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 21 yards.
Lynch was a passing and rushing force as Athens Drive fell to the Bengals. Lynch's favorite target this week was Stallings, who caught 2 passes for 63 yards.
Green Hope's Luke Massei and Elijah Murrane have formed a dream team this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Massei has thrown for 2,450 yards this season, while Murrane has 76 catches for 935 yards. The Golden Hawks' Trey Staten leads the league in rushing yards with 1,299.
The Falcons' Murrane needs only 65 receiving yards against Panther Creek to crack 1,000 for the season. So far this year, he has garnered 76 catches for 935 yards.
An important game coming up in the league this week will be when Middle Creek takes on Fuquay-Varina. Mike Castellano's team is in second place, while Jeb Hall's team is in third place.
