The Rolla Bulldogs entered their tilt with the Waynesville Tigers with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Rolla took down Waynesville 67-51 on Thursday. Given Rolla's advantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 13th, while Waynesville is ranked 180th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Leading Rolla to victory were Akaela Caquelin and Willow Gideon. Caquelin scored 17 points along with seven rebounds and two steals, while Gideon scored 21 points along with five steals. Gideon is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last 12 games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Resa Martin, who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds.
Rolla's win was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 19-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.1 points per game. As for Waynesville, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-12.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Rolla will take on West Plains at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Waynesville, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Lebanon at 7:30 p.m. on Monday. Hopefully Lebanon focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Thursday.
