Baseball Recap: St. Anne-Pacelli Takes a Loss

St. Anne-Pacelli and Bulloch Academy squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but St. Anne-Pacelli had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Gators by a score of 5-4. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Gators this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-5 on Friday.

St. Anne-Pacelli saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cam Carino, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Carino has become a key player for the Vikings: the team is 6-1 when he posts at least two runs, but 8-18 otherwise. Ben Green was another, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

St. Anne-Pacelli's defeat dropped their record down to 14-19. As for Bulloch Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 23-7 record this season.

St. Anne-Pacelli does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Bulloch Academy, they will challenge Brookstone on Friday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Gators 3.4, the Cougars 2.2) so any runs scored will be well earned.
