Coyle is 3-0 against Copan since October of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Coyle Bluejackets will look to defend their home field against the Copan Hornets at 7:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Coyle entered their tilt with Oaks-Mission with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Coyle claimed a resounding 52-6 victory over Oaks-Mission on the road. That's two games straight that Coyle has won by exactly 46 points.
Alex Jennings was the offensive standout of the match as he rushed for 109 yards on only 14 carries, and also threw for 174 yards and two touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes. Jennings hasn't dropped below 100 rushing yards for four straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of John Tarbox, who rushed for 126 yards on only 12 carries.
Meanwhile, Copan took their contest at home last Thursday with ease, bagging a 74-24 victory over Watts. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Copan.
Coyle's win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 6-2. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points per game. As for Copan, their win bumped their record up to 4-4.
Everything came up roses for Coyle against Copan in their previous meeting back in October of 2022 as the squad secured a 66-28 victory. Does Coyle have another victory up their sleeve, or will Copan turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
