TEACH were the 59-49 winner over the Norfolk Christian Ambassadors when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. TEACH took a hard 50-36 fall against Norfolk Christian on Saturday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points TEACH has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why TEACH lost, one person who can't be blamed is Nikolas Neuhofer . Despite the final result, he scored 12 points along with nine rebounds and three steals. Neuhofer is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Backus, who scored six points along with six rebounds.
Norfolk Christian got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Connor Holmes out in front who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. Those 21 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Jalen Freeman, who scored 18 points along with six assists and four steals.
TEACH now has a losing record at 2-3. As for Norfolk Christian, their win bumped their record up to 4-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. TEACH will be home for the holidays to greet Rock Church at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Rock Church has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 272 points over their last four contests. Norfolk Christian and Western Branch will face off at 7:00 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Western Branch will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
