The Sylvan Hills Bears will head out on the road to face off against the Greene County Tech Golden Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with 11 consecutive losses dating back to last season for Sylvan Hills and eight for Greene County Tech.
Last Friday, Sylvan Hills had to suffer through a rough 61-22 loss at the hands of Marion. While losing is never fun, Sylvan Hills can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arkansas football rankings (they are ranked 117th, while Marion is ranked 18th).
Meanwhile, it was a hard-fought game, but Greene County Tech had to settle for a 16-14 defeat against Sheridan on Friday.
Sylvan Hills' defeat was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 0-9. As for Greene County Tech, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.
Everything went Sylvan Hills' way against Greene County Tech in their previous meeting back in November of 2022 as Sylvan Hills made off with a 35-14 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sylvan Hills since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
