Baseball Recap: Brandon Wins Going Away Against Mize

While Brandon put up plenty of runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Mize. Brandon was the clear victor by a 12-0 margin over Mize. The result was nothing new for Brandon, who have now won 13 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Maddox Culpepper looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Brandon got a massive performance out of Tre Adcox, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. Brandon is undefeated when Adcox posts two or more runs, but 10-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jay McQueen, who scored two runs while going 3-for-3.

Brandon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .552. They are a perfect 10-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Brandon is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-11 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mize, their record is now 18-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Brandon will host Northwest Rankin at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mize, they will be playing at home against Sumrall at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bobcats will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Bulldogs surely won't give up without a fight.
