The Lincoln Lions will take on the South Kingstown Rebels at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Lincoln is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Barrington, who was ranked 12th at the time (Lincoln was ranked 24th). The Lions blew past the Eagles 20-5 on Monday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Lions needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.

Lucia Whyte was a standout: she went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, five RBI, and two doubles. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Sydney Marchand was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Lincoln always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .750. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Barrington only posted an OBP of .438.
Meanwhile, South Kingstown made easy work of Mt. Hope on Wednesday and carried off a 12-1 victory.
Juliana Oliva spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on six hits and racked up nine Ks.
At the plate, Bianca Harding was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that she has launched this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jillian Kavanagh, who went 3-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Lincoln has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 6-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for South Kingstown, their victory bumped their record up to 6-10.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Lincoln has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.2 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like South Kingstown struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.2 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Lincoln might still be hurting after the 10-2 defeat they got from South Kingstown in their previous matchup back in April. Will the Lions have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
