The Hardaway Hawks were the 70-50 winner over the Columbus Blue Devils when they last played one another back in November, but their luck changed this time around. Hardaway fell just short of Columbus by a score of 54-52.
Hardaway's lost on Tuesday despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Antonio Dortch, who scored 12 points along with 8 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Mekhi Benton, who scored 9 points.
Among those leading the charge was Oakley Koontz, who scored 8 points along with 11 rebounds and 6 blocks. He has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Karson Baldwin, who scored 10 points.
Hardaway has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-4 record this season. As for Columbus, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Coincidentally, both teams will both be playing Brookstone the next time they take the court. Columbus will host Brookstone at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, while Hardaway will host them at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
