The Northwestern Tigers were the 39-34 winner over the Eastbrook Panthers when they last played one another back in January of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. Northwestern took a serious blow against Eastbrook on Friday, falling 69-31. Northwestern was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-18.
Eastbrook's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophia Morrison, who scored 18 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Morrison has scored at least 25% of Eastbrook's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Olivia Howell, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Northwestern bumped their record down to 5-12 with that loss, which was their fourth straight on the road. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.5 points per game. As for Eastbrook, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-1.
Northwestern will head out on the road to face off against Oak Hill at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Eastbrook, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wabash at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Wabash will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Indiana Rankings (they are ranked 240th, while Eastbrook is ranked 50th).
