The Mountain Pointe Pride will head out on the road to challenge the Casteel Colts at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Mountain Pointe is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
Mountain Pointe suffered their biggest defeat since December 11, 2023 on Friday. They took a serious blow against Higley, falling 74-47. While losing is never fun, Mountain Pointe can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 246th, while Higley is ranked 33rd).
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Casteel's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They were the victim of a rough 41-19 defeat at the hands of Williams Field. Casteel has not had much luck with Williams Field recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.
Mountain Pointe's defeat was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-15. As for Casteel, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 12-7.
Mountain Pointe was able to grind out a solid victory over Casteel in their previous meeting back in January of 2023, winning 52-43. Will Mountain Pointe repeat their success, or does Casteel have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
