The North Stanly Comets can now show off 13 landslide victories after their most recent contest on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 61-19 win over South Stanly. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-8.
North Stanly's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Giavonna Dunlap led the charge by dropping a double-double on 13 points and ten steals. Dunlap hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. Another player making a difference was Shalyn Bell, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds.
Despite the defeat, South Stanly saw an underclassman step up: Briley Page scored 12 points.
North Stanly's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-3. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 28 points. As for South Stanly, they are on a 17-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-17.
North Stanly will head out on the road to challenge Mount Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for South Stanly, they will be playing at home against Union Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
