The Adams Cougars suffered their closest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They fell just short of Poteet by a score of 57-54. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Adams in their matchups with Poteet: they've now lost four in a row.
Adams lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Terell Toomas, who scored 25 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Toomas has scored all season. Keiontay marsh was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with seven assists and five rebounds.
Adams has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Poteet, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-8.
Adams will head out on the road to take on Seagoville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Seagoville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up eight last Friday. As for Poteet, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Spruce at 7:30 p.m. Spruce is still on the hunt for that elusive first 'W'.
