Elk Grove's Adam O'Malley rumbled for the longest rushing play in Mid-Suburban - East this season in his game against Wheeling last week. O'Malley ran for 84 yards on the play and finished with 91 on the day as his team defeated the Wildcats.
Elk Grove moved up to 99 from 132 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Larry Calhoun's team was able to make the jump by beating Wheeling 48-0.
The Grenadiers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. O'Malley threw for 156 and four touchdowns and John Pass had 100 yards receiving. Mike Bishoff helped Elk Grove's passing attack out by catching three balls for 42 yards.
Elk Grove's offense has been unstoppable this season and the Grenadiers feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. O'Malley has thrown for 1024 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, while Bishoff has 25 catches for 316 yards. Mikey Maize leads the league in rushing with 282 yards.
A big matchup in Mid-Suburban - East this week will be when Rolling Meadows takes on Elk Grove. The Mustangs are in first place, while the Grenadiers are in fourth place.
The top two defenses in the league will face off this season when Rolling Meadows takes on Elk Grove. Matt Misher 's team has allowed 99 points this season, while the Grenadiers have given up 107. The Mustangs allowed 28 points last week as they topped Prospect.
Elk Grove made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 2,887 from 3,583. The advance stemmed from a 48-0 victory over Dave Dunbar's team last week.
