Fort Collins has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Legacy Lightning at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Legacy took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Fort Collins, who comes in off a win.
On Saturday, Fort Collins was able to grind out a solid victory over Fairview, taking the game 51-39. Given Fort Collins' advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 23rd, while Fairview is ranked 154th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Fort Collins relied on the efforts of Rhya Cano, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds and four steals, and Avery Alcaraz, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Cano has scored all season. Jocelyn Kramar was another key contributor, scoring five points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Legacy came up short against Horizon on Friday and fell 58-47. Legacy was down 50-28 at the end of the third quarter, which was just too much to recover from.
Fort Collins has been performing well recently as they've won 12 of their last 15 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 16-5 record this season. As for Legacy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-14 record this season.
Fort Collins didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Legacy when the teams last played back in February of 2023, but they still walked away with a 49-44 win.
