Doug Tripp caught a 6-yard pass from Eric Tripp with 10 seconds to play to take the lead and then sacked the quarterback in the end zone for a safety on the day’s final play as Glen Cove scored a 33-27 upset Bethpage in a Section III Conference III football game Saturday.
Eric Tripp finished 14-for-21 for 133 yards and two touchdown passes to go with 42 yards and two TDs on the ground. He also made a 30-yard interception return for a score on defense.
Glen Cove improved to 4-2 while handing Bethpage its first loss of the season.

* Seaford, just 50 seconds away from its first loss in six starts this season, got a strip, takeaway and 30-yard TD return from sophomore linebacker Ryan Metas to pull out an improbable 7-6 victory over Roosevelt (5-1). Roosevelt was on the brink of victory moments earlier as Mansur Wajid picked off a throw with just more than a minute remaining.
* Stephen Jahelka ran for 205 yards and two touchdowns as Garden City beat New Hyde Park, 35-14, to give coach Tom Flatley his 200th win in 24 seasons.
* Randy Tillman, who ran for 215 yards, scored on a 2-yard carry with 4:17 left, lifting unbeaten Harborfields to a 22-15 win over Kings Park.
* Riverhead's overcame Ian Braddish’s 85-yard return of the opening kickoff to earn a 34-13 victory over West Islip as Miguel Maysonet carried 30 times for 316 yards and scored all the points on five TDs and a pair of two-point conversions.
* Brentwood junior QB Alex Corporan ran for two TDs and threw for three, including an 18-yard pass to Gabriel Manzuota in overtime, to down previously unbeaten Northport, 34-27.
* William Floyd ran its winning streak to 39 by cruising past Sachem North, 30-6. With Floyd clinging to a 14-6 lead, junior Jarel Johnson intercepted a pass midway through the fourth quarter to stop a drive and set up Steve Murphy's 30-yard TD pass to Jesse Kelly.
* Terrell Williams' third TD of the game and 18th of the season was a 101-yard interception return as Hempstead earned a 27-7 triumph against Freeport to leave both teams 5-1.

* In Section V, Casey Vogl's second short touchdown run of the game, a 3-yard plunge, late in the fourth quarter set up by a fumble recovery, carried Aquinas to a 21-14 victory over McQuaid. Vogl rushed 30 times for 135 yards for the defending state champions, who have won 20 consecutive games.
* Senior Travis Fenstermaker went 11-for-15 for 223 yards and four TDs for LeRoy in a 41-19 win over Hornell.
* Freshman Chris Nevinger ran 26 times for for 226 yards and four touchdowns as Letchworth overwhelmed Marcus Whitman, 50-18.
* Greece Athena senior Dwayne Cunningham ran for 172 yards and a TD on 20 carries in a 45-0 blitzing of Irondequoit. Joe Trimboli was 7-of-8 on passes for 95 yards and two TDs for the Trojans.
* Marshall sophomore Ashton Broyld threw three TD passes and scored twice on long runs as the Jurists sent Gates Chili to its second straight loss, 44-21. Broyld’s 7-yard throw to Eddie Jackson gave the Jurists the lead for good at 22-14, and he went on to a 19-of-28 night passing for 216 yards and ran for another 158.
* Senior Jeff Stanton (eight receptions for 117 yards and three TDs) caught a 20-yard TD pass from junior Duell Smith to lift Hilton to a 54-48 overtime win over Edison. Smith completed 13 of 22 passes for 216 yards and four touchdowns; counterpart Joe Hlywa completed 22 of 34 passes for 429 yards – No. 2 all-time in Section V.
* In Section I, Mahopac quarterback Tim Taps' two-point conversion pass with 11 seconds remaining to play fell incomplete, preserving Carmel's 35-33 win. The Indians blocked a field-goal attempt with 1:10 to go and then drove to a 1-yard Justin Autera TD run to cut the margin to 35-33. Carmel junior R.J. Krauss rushed for 206 yards.
* Fox Lane picked off Eastchester in Class A, 34-26, to clinch a postseason spot and knock the Eagles out. Jesse Hunt completed 16 of 25 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns for the Foxes as they recovered from deficits of 12-0 and 20-6.
* Tuckahoe got a 24-yard TD pass from Anthony Gentile to Richard Bray with 1:40 to play to fend off Bronxville, 14-12. The win was the 100th for John D'Arco in 17 seasons at Eastchester and Tuckahoe.
* In Section II, Mark Ambrosio threw for 139 yards and rushed for 58 as Shaker pulled off a 17-7 upset of previously unbeaten Schenectady. Ambrosio, who was 7-of-11 on passes, ran 39 yards to the end zone in the fourth quarter for the game-clinching score.
* Schuylerville fell behind by 10-0 before roaring back for a 49-23 victory against Cambridge. Brad Lyon rushed 12 times for 188 yards, and Claeton Corsetti's 91-yard kickoff return wrapped up the win.
* In a game that will help shape the Class C picture in Section III, Westmoreland upset Cazenovia, 23-20, as senior Nick Matwijec pulled down an interception in the end zone with five seconds to go to foil a 93-yard Cazenovia drive. Westmoreland rallied from a 13-0 deficit and took the lead for good as Justin Becker (24 carries, 122 yards) scored on runs of 29 and 6 yards. T.J. Losowski kicked a 42-yard field goal early for the margin of victory.
* Syracuse Henninger won at Rome Free Academy for the first time since 1979, securing a 30-28 victory sealed by Kihary Blue's 65-yard scoring strike to Donte Gage late in the fourth quarter. Blue finished 12-for-14 for 196 yards and three TDs.
* Defending state Class C champion Bishop Ludden pushed its winning streak to 19 with a 54-37 win against Hannibal. Rick Montgomery blocked a punt and returned it 33 yards to start a 28-point second quarter that included two TD passes by John Rooney (4-for-7, 99 yards and three TDs).
* Clay Ardoin ran 24 times for 221 yards and four TDs as Dolgeville beat Utica Notre Dame, 42-14. Ardoin scored twice in the first 12:04 for a 14-0 lead.
* In Section VI, Kevin Chillis scored five times during a 26-carry, 429-yard performance as Buffalo McKinley routed Burgard, 40-14. Chillis, who began the season as a receiver, ran for 254 yards a week earlier against Hutch-Tech.
* New York Class AA front-runner Orchard Park continued to impress with a 47-6 romp over Niagara-Wheatfield. Kyle Hoppy (8-for-10, 127 yards) threw for two touchdowns and ran for two more.
* Grand Island's Alex Neutz made eight catches for 229 yards and three TDs and also scored on a 33-yard interception return to beat Niagara Falls, 36-0.
* In Section IX, Nick Finger ran for 289 yards and two touchdowns to lead Millbrook past Liberty, 30-20.
* In Section X, Class A Indian River rolled to a 53-25 victory against Class C Ogdensburg Free Academy on the strength of Andre Green’s 18 carries for 220 yards and three TDs in his second game back from a back injury.
