Softball Recap: Madison's Winning Streak Snapped at Four Games

Madison dropped their record down to 8-2 on Monday, which also ended the team's four-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the Blissfield Royals by a score of 7-6. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Trojans of the 11-3 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in May of 2024.

As for Blissfield, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-4. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since May 3, 2024.

For Blissfield's part, Savannah Stalker made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched seven innings while giving up six earned runs off seven hits. Stalker has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. She was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.

Stalker wasn't the only one making solid contact as three players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Grace Strahan, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Madison will square off against Summerfield at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Blissfield, they will host Hilltop at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
