Basketball Recap: Kellis Piles Up the Points Against Paradise Valley

Kellis had won three straight at home, but on Wednesday they bumped up to 11-6 to make it four. They really took it to the Paradise Valley Trojans for the full four quarters, racking up a 65-33 victory. The Cougars have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 28 points or more this season.

As for Paradise Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-6. While losing is never fun, they can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 184th, while Kellis is ranked 33rd).

When it comes to explaining why Paradise Valley lost, don't look at Carah Johnson. Despite the final result, she posted eight points and seven rebounds. Newitt Natalee also deserves some recognition as she posted her first block of the season.

Coming up, Kellis will take on Lake Havasu at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Paradise Valley, they are taking a road trip to take on Horizon at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
