Despite their loss, Buna saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Raylee Harding, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. That's the first time this season that Harding pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Reese Sherman, who scored seven points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Kirbyville has not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Buna, their loss dropped their record down to 20-10.
Kirbyville skirted past Buna 37-34 when the teams last played on January 2nd. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Sherman, who scored eight points along with eight steals and seven rebounds.
