Clayton never let their opponents score on Monday. They put the hurt on the Whitfield Warriors with a sharp 16-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Greyhounds, who have now won five matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Clayton and bumps their season record up to 7-6. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 8 runs in those games. As for Whitfield, they are on a seven-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Clayton will host Ritenour at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Huskies have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 13 runs per game on average), something the Greyhounds will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for Whitfield, they will be playing in front of their home fans against MICDS at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed 2.9 runs per game this season, so the Warriors' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
