Overhills is 1-9 against the Wolverines since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Overhills Jaguars will be playing at home against the Westover Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Overhills sitting on four straight wins and the Wolverines on 11.
Last Friday, everything went Overhills' way against the Eagles as the Jaguars made off with a 67-42 win. Given Overhills' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 311th, while the Eagles are ranked 624th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Overhills can attribute much of their success to Ja?von Motta, who scored 17 points, and Chauncy Kelly, who scored 13 points along with six assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Motta has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Ej Stokes, who scored nine points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, even though Triton scored an imposing 56 points on Friday, Westover still came out on top. Westover took their game against the Hawks 67-56.
Overhills has been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-8 record this season. As for Westover, they pushed their record up to 17-1 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
