Prairie is 1-9 against Skyview since March of 2017 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The Falcons will head out to face off against the Storm at 4:30 p.m. Prairie is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 9.3 runs per game this season.
While Prairie's victory against Camas wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Falcons sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 win over the Papermakers on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last six times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Mackenzie Moore made a big impact no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 12 batters over six innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than nine strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Kayla Scholl, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4. She also hit a triple, marking her first of the season. Another player making a difference was Carlie Palmer, who scored two runs while going 1-for-4.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Skyview). They blew past Mountain View 26-7 two weeks ago. Considering the Storm have won five contests by more than seven runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Prairie, Skyview also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Milhorn. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Milhorn was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-2 with three RBI.
In other batting news, Addy Harmier was incredible, firing off two home runs, five RBI, and three runs while going 5-for-5. Lainey Phillips was another key player, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI.
Skyview always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .707. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mountain View only posted an OBP of .417.
Prairie pushed their record up to 5-2 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Skyview, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-1.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Prairie has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.1 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 8.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Prairie suffered a grim 10-0 defeat to Skyview in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Falcons avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
