Narraguagus has gone 8-2 against Calais recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Blue Devils at 4:00 p.m. Narraguagus' pitching crew has only allowed 1.2 runs per game this season, so Calais' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
Narraguagus blew Machias out of the water the last time the pair played, but on Wednesday Machias got their revenge. The Knights fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 3-1. The match marked the Knights' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Calais). Everything went their way against Shead on Friday as they made off with a 20-10 victory. With that win, the Blue Devils brought their scoring average up to 7.1 runs per game.
Alexis Sulkowski and Ashaliegh Sulkowski did most of the damage at the plate: Alexis went a perfect 3-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Ashaliegh went a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, four stolen bases, and three runs. That's the most runs Ashaliegh has posted since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Peyton Beal, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.
Calais always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .721. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Calais' victory ended an eight-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Narraguagus, their defeat was their first of the season and makes their record 7-1.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Narraguagus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .547. However, it's not like Calais struggles in that department as they've averaged .485. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Narraguagus' way against Calais in their previous meeting back in April, as Narraguagus made off with a 14-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Knights since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
