The Pateros Billygoats/Nannies will head out on the road to take on the Curlew Cougars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Pateros is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
Pateros stacked a 12th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They breezed by Cascade Christian Academy on the road to the tune of 61-15. Given Pateros' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 120th, while Cascade Christian Academy is ranked 360th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Meanwhile, Curlew unfortunately witnessed the end of their 16-game winning streak on Saturday. They fell just short of Inchelium by a score of 44-41. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat Curlew has suffered yet this season.
Despite the loss, Curlew had strong showings from Annika Baker, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds, and Emma Lena Baker, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Pateros has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Curlew, their defeat ended a 11-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-2.
Pateros came out on top in a nail-biter against Curlew when the teams last played back in December of 2022, sneaking past 30-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Pateros since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
