Buhach Colony hasn't had much luck on the road recently (they'd lost 12 straight) but thanks in part to Carter Chapman that streak is no more. The Buhach Colony Thunder enjoyed a cozy 83-64 win over the Denair Coyotes on Saturday thanks in part to Chapman, who shot 5-for-9 from downtown and dropped a double-double on 42 points and 20 boards. That's the most rebounds he has posted since back in December of 2023.
Despite the loss, Denair still got an impressive performance from Koby Cervantes, who went 10 of 19 on his way to 30 points in addition to five rebounds and four blocks. Cervantes' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Mateo Mendoza, who went 6 of 13 on his way to 12 points and six rebounds.
The victory got Buhach Colony back to even at 6-6. As for Denair, they moved to 5-7 with that loss, which also ended their four-game winning streak.
Buhach Colony will be taking part in a tournament against Grace Davis at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Buhach Colony knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past four contests -- so hopefully Grace Davis likes a good challenge. Denair and Turlock Christian will round out the year against one another at at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
