The Ridgemont Golden Gophers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Kenton Wildcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Ridgemont focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 16 on Thursday.
Last Thursday, in a tight match that could have gone either way, Ridgemont made off with a 46-45 win over the Tigers.
Ridgemont's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kylie Shreve, who scored 16 points along with four steals. Shreve hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Ruth Eckstein, who scored five points along with ten rebounds and three steals.
Meanwhile, Kenton pushed their score all the way to 56 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a 60-56 hit to the loss column at the hands of Memorial. Kenton has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Ridgemont's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-14. As for Kenton, they dropped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Ridgemont was dealt a bruising 70-19 loss at the hands of the Wildcats in their previous matchup back in January of 2023. The matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point Ridgemont was down 52-12.
